A chance meting with open water swimming coach Fay Tennet over the summer inevitably led to the arrival of a new event on our programme. This November, I’m delighted that Fay will be in Quinton running fully immersive workshops offering an introduction to cold water swimming.
The workshops will be relevant to inidviduals who tick any of the following boxes:
are brand new to cold/wild swimming
would like to continue a summer swimming practice into the autumn and beyond
are interested in swimming through the different seasons and want to learn how
would like to learn how to keep safe in different bodies of water.
The two hour workshops will include:
time in the studio discussing the benefits of cold water swimming and learning how to approach the practice safely, including information on how to warm up after cold water swimming and immersion.
a swimming/immersion session in the outdoor swimming pond at Quinton Old Rectory, including a safety briefing and debrief.
Tea and cake to help you warm up whilst you share your experiences with other attendees.
We’re running two workshops on 1 November; the morning session begins at 10.30am and the afternoon session at 1.30pm. We have space for 8 to join us on each of the workshops.
A full kit list and disclaimer forms will be sent out a couple of weeks ahead of the workshops.
